Ola Electric confirms work on e-motorcycles
Ola Electric had raised $200 million in September 2021 this year to accelerate its plans to develop and research electric motorcycles and cars in India.
Ola Electric is currently offering test drives for its first battery-powered S1 and S1 pro scooter across cities in india like Delhi, Bengaluru, Kolkata and Ahmedabad, Mumbai, and various cities.
Ola Electric CEO Bhavish Aggarwal has confirmed that he start developing electric motorcycles and cheaper electric scooters next year. Bhavish had earlier mentioned in a post that the company plans to expand its EV range from just e-scooters to e-bikes and e-cars as well.

The company talks that there will not be any petrol-powered two-wheeler running on the country’s roads by this mid-decade.
The OLA EV startup had launched its first battery-powered scooter – Ola S1 and S1 Pro in August 2021 this year and the S1 model is currently being offered for test drives across cities like Delhi, Bengaluru, Kolkata and Ahmedabad, Mumbai, and various cities.
The test rides have been arranged so that many who have booked has a unit can take a look at their product and its performance before the purchasing process. The company plans to begin the first batch of the scooters deliveries soon after the test rides are completed, though a specific date doesn’t yet available.
