About Rivian R1S

New American startup brand Rivian’s second model is the futuristic R1S, its battery-powered SUV. the company claim 300 + miles of driving range and super-quick acceleration, the R1S assembly line is set up in Illinois. R1S comes with big battery options the official EPA range for the Rivian R1S is 314 miles (505 km), respectively. The Rivan R1S will be sold directly to consumers, although Rivian says that it also will set up a network of service centers. Rivian R1S is in direct competition with the Tesla Model X. which is the only other three-row all-electric SUV currently available.

Pricing

The starting price of the R1S is $84,500 for the Explore version with Standard-Range Battery. The more expensive Adventure model trim will start selling in 2023 at $90,000.

Performance

All-wheel drive option is standard on the R1S. The R1S produces up to 835 horsepower and achieves 0 to 60 mph in just 3.0 seconds. That performance makes it the fastest pickup truck of all time. also, Adjustable air suspension will be standard in all models and it can adjust the ground clearance height from 8 to 14 inches. all version of the R1S has the all-wheel-drive option, with an electric motor at every wheel. This function allows the R1S to do what Rivian calls a Tank Turn, this time electric motors rotate the left wheels in the opposite direction of the right ones to spin the truck on its axis

Towing and Payload Capacity

R1S is able to tow more than 7700 pounds. because the R1S has an all-wheel drive, with an electric motor at each wheel. but towing will impact its driving range, so people who plan to do towing regularly should pick the model with the largest available battery. The R1S has a payload capacity of 1800 pounds.

Battery, Charging, and Range

Rivian R1S Suv comes with a 135-kWh battery pack, capable of giving a claimed driving range of 300 miles. also A larger 180-kWh battery pack will come on the market in 2023 and Rivian says it is capable of giving a range of 400 miles per charge.

Rivian claims the R1S battery can be charged from 10 to 90 percent in under 72 minutes when fast charging into a 150-kW DC fast charger. This same setup is also said to add 41 miles in less than 10 minutes. The 11-kW onboard home charger is expected to charge the battery from 10 to 100 percent in approx 10 hours.

The R1S is the first electric SUV to receive a fuel economy rating from the EPA. Fuel economy ratings for the R1S are 74 MPGe cities, 66 MPGe highways, and 70 MPGe combined.
