Hyundai adds a plug-in hybrid option to the Santa Fe lineup for 2022. With a bigger battery pack and a more powerful electric motor than the lesser Santa Fe hybrid, the PHEV is capable of traveling some distances on battery power alone before needing to fire up its gas engine. Unfortunately, those interested in this model better live in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, or Vermont, because Hyundai only sells the Santa Fe PHEV in these states.
